What do you think about it?Would my 16MB Ram Computer be to slow for XServer? Posted by cbagger01 on Aug. 26 2005,20:40
Not if you create a swap partition or a swap file.Even so, you should use Dillo and other light apps instead of Firefox or other apps that use more RAM. "Too slow" is a subjective term that will need to be decided by yourself. Posted by adssse on Aug. 27 2005,04:46
It will probably also help to use the minimal theme and edit .xinitrc to load only the things that you want loaded as to not waste ram on things you wont use.

The trick with X and low amounts of ram is not usually the X server, it's the window manager and apps.As long as you have some swapspace, run as few apps as possible, and do not expect great performance, you should be okay. -J.P. Posted by Bogdan Radulescu on Aug. 31 2005,22:28
