Quit X & edit the .xserverrc file in /home/dsl

After the -screen option there will be a resolution like 1024x768x16, this is the WidthxHeightxColour-Depth. Just add 'x85' to the end of this to get 85Hz. Save the file & 'startx' again

I try to set -screen 1024x768x32x85...but when I do "startx" the refresh is 60hz! :(

When I try to change resolution (ex. 800x600x32x60) the X server start to 800x600 resolution...but the refresh is still 60hz! :(

can you help me? ???
thanks :)

The refresh setting in Xvesa doesn't work (even if it's in the Xvesa documentation). If you could get your hands on a Knoppix CD and the mouse works with that, you can copy the Knoppix X config file to DSL.

Don't think so. Unless you want to hack some refresh rate code yourself, your only option is XFree86.

hi all.
I've the same problem of Qwert.
I've a geforce2 mx200 with a sony cdp-e200(100hertz @ 1024x768) display but I'm not able to push my REFRESH RATE higher than 60hertz, and so I conn't look at my display for more than 5 minutes...

Qwert, have you found a solution?
Can somebody help me explaining how to do step by step?
Could be this a video card problem?

Thank you all...

FULL ACK.

Same probleme here, xvesa won't run > 60Hz.
Is there any other parameter i can give or a hidden XF86Config file?

Or has anyone managed to install the complete XFree Server with DSL?

Thanks a lot - greetings from Germany. :)

the xfree86 config file does not work with xvesa

You can install XFree86 via mydsl package:
