Sorry. Where is this file?  /etc/ something  ?

/X11/  something  ?

~ = your home directory, so

/home/dsl/.xinitrc

Files that start with a "." are hidden from view.

You can see them from inside emelfm if you push the "H" button at the top of the window pane.

To see them from within a GTK application "File -> Open" window, type a "." (period) into the filename box and then press the TAB key on your keyboard.

You have it.  You really, really do.
Read cbagger01's post again (or for the first time, if you happen to have stopped reading the thread after the first answer).

If you want to stop a dock app temporarily(needed if you want to modify your slitlist order) then:
dsl@box>top
a task monitor of sorts scrolls into view, you'll notice on the right hand side a name for the tasks and on the left hand side a PID number.
Press: "k"
input desired PID number
Press:Enter
Press:y
exit the window, make any changes to your slitlist file or whatever it is you were needing to do with the task killed. This is a great way to stop a task temporarily without having to change whether it starts at boot or not.
