Hi
I am having trouble trying to save my settings to the USB drive I boot DSL 2.0 off of.  I don't want to use a floppy and maintain two mediums so I want it all on the same pen drive as my DSL image.  I type in sda1 and click backup.  The screen disapeares and the settings are not backed up.  Any ideas or referals to where I can get help on this topic?

We need more info in order to help you.

DId you install it onto the pendrive using the scripts provided by the menus in DSL?
You could be missing the "frugal" boot code which attempts to make it writeable.
Is this a USB-ZIP install or USB-HDD type? If is a ZIP type you could be out of space. The first partition on ZIP type is small and you should be using sda2
And finally you should not be mounting sda1 or you might be facing the dreaded multiple mount problem as sda1 is already mounted under /cdrom.

I went in and figured it out.  What it is is that my HP laptop and dsl 2.0 don't like each other.  I was able to get the backup to work on another computer.  I apologize for the lack of information.  I did not know that a usb install was mounted under /cdrom.  Thank you for your help.
