OK.. so here is how I started blowing things up..
I did a HD install.. tried to download some apps
the extention download said I was not the DSL user.. so no joy..

I logged off and logged back in.. could not remember what the silly password was I gave to DSL.. sooo
I deleted it.. and recreated the account.. NOW..

when trying to download the extensions it tells me that I am not the dsl user.. and terminates..

Do I have to reinstall the OS ?  or what would it take to fix this otherwise.. ?

Peace

Mark

User "dsl" must have a UID of 1001 and a GID of 50, and should also have /home/dsl as its home in order for certain features to work properly.

Code Sample
sudo usermod -d /home/dsl -u 1001 -g 50 dsl
