I'm trying to load cheat codes automatically from a floppy. Here is what I was planning to do.

Create a knoppix.sh script in the Knoppix directory on my CD with the following line:

dsl floppyconfig

Then on my floppy root directory I will create a knoppix.sh script with the following line:

dsl toram nodhcp restore=fd0

Would that work? Thanks for the feedback.

No, because the "dsl toram nodhcp restore=fd0" stuff needs to be entered into the bootloader prompt and not into the knoppix startup process.

Instead, do this.

Easy way:
Create a DSL bootfloppy using the bootfloppy image.
Edit the syslinux.cfg file on the floppy disk and add "toram nodhcp restore=fd0" to your default append line.  Then save the file.
Then boot DSL from the floppy disk + cdrom (this assumes that your BIOS boot order is FLOPPY (1st) CDROM (2nd) HARDDRIVE (3rd).
Press ENTER at the boot prompt.
As soon as the Little penguin & K N O P P I X autodetection stuff appears, QUICKLY remove your boot floppy and replace it with a blank (already formatted) floppy disk.
Enjoy.

The harder (but more rewarding) way:
Remaster the DSL livecd so that you add "toram nodhcp restore=fd0" to the /boot/isolinux/isolinux.cfg file default append string.
Burn your newly remastered DSL livecd.  Enjoy

If the full remastering process is too hard, you could use an ISO image editor program or simply use the "mkmydsl" script to build a new mydsl.iso file.  When you are prompted to add any custom extensions, go over to the boot/isolinux directory and make your changes to isolinux.cfg and then continue with the mkmydsl process.

Good Luck.
