Hi all,
I have good progress learning this linux somethingh. Now I again test the extremes and need some help. I succesfully made CD-remaster, and it was easy, and the new CD works. The next step is fine-tuning. It was a great displeasure to see that instead the normal 50 Mb memory usage the new CD uses 100+ Mb.
This is good for me, but my brother has a stoneage computer with wery little memory.
My question is if I put almost all programs into the /optional directory, and make myDSL CD like that, will the memory usage be the same low as of the original CD? Than we can install the programs we actually use with no waste of memory. Is that a good way? And would it work for frugal install also? I must make things foolproof, as I dont know who else will get that CD  :p  so better forget the mem command. Words will be forgotten, writing will be lost - it always happens like that.

OK. I did it again, after reading the forums. Used UCI for all I could and left the rest in /optional directory and now memory usage low again.
Sorry for posting on the wrong place. Today I had time to look around in the forums and read the first time.
