Ok, First off i'd like to say I am an Advanced Windows User

Switching to Linux has beena  goal of mine for some time and about a week ago i Bought Linux User & Developer ( a Magizine ) and it came with DSL 2.0 iwas like wow.....

anyways... I am currently just useing it LiveCD And will probabally keep doing it untill i can find a way to format 2 Scsi 4G hdd to be able to use them for a permanant Install....

I wanted to play a sound or two on my DSL install and I think I am going to be Putting an ESS Sound Card into it

Crrently it is running on a PII 300 mhz x2 ( meaning 2 Processors ) With 94 MB Ram ish a Voodoo 4500 video card ( 32Mb VRam ) Ambios Board Not sure of the Exact modle It comes with its own Intergrated Sound but i don't know how to get it to work or what it even is...

Any help here would be Really appreciated

If it's a PCI card, it will probably be auto-detected.

Otherwise, you will need to manually "modprobe" to install the sound drivers, or you can install the sndconfig utility to do it for you.

If you know the ESS type, you can search the forums for this model number for advice.
