To begin with I should say that Im not a linux user of any kind. Ive played around with Debian a while back but thats it so I kinda need a complete walkthru if anyones up for it. Or if you have suggestions to pieces of what I need its greatly appreciated.

Heres what Ive done.

So far Ive only downloaded a DSL iso, burnt it on a cd and booted up with it. Thats as far as ive come with it for now.

This is what I need.

I need the cd to boot up with a completely locked version where the user can do nothing.

Immediatly at bootup a predefined file (ill prolly make a mpeg, would be a form of presentation slide but im assuming a video clip would be easisest) should start playing with an infinite loop.

The only thing a user shall be able to do with a key combination is to stop the slide and shut the machine down.

This is how it will run

The whole idea with this is that any user with no knowledge of anything shall be able to put the cd in any computer, boot it up. Watch the video feed forever and then shut it down, remove the cd and nothing shall be affected on the computers harddrive

Why do I need this?

I work as a computer salesman and have grown tired of having to do a reinstall on the computers every time I sell the demonstration machine of a model we wont sell any more. I want every single one of my coworkers to be able to put a new machine on display without having to do more than put a cd in the drive and press "ON" and I want them to be able to sell the display machine without having to do anything else than remove the cd and turn the machine off. From the time they turn it on til they turn it off they shall be able to do nothing to the machine except watching the demo rolling on the screen.

Any suggestions on how to do this?
