Hi,

I tried to get DSL running on a Compaq Contura Aero 433C notebook. Unfortunately, as this is a 486 processor machine, there is no math coprocessor available on this system. So on booting the kernel following message appears:

"No coprocessor found and no math emulation present.
Giving up."

I tried to boot with kernel parameter "no387" (found this one in the ubuntu wiki), but it does not work.

Maybe someone has got one or the other hint for me?

Thanks,
Cas

Try old DSL version 0.5.3.1

You will still need 16MB of RAM.

If you can't get DSL to work then you could try < http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/baslinux/ >

Already tried 0.5.3.1. It does not make any difference.  :-(

So I guess there's no chance at all??
