Hi there,
I need to get to old machines running exclusively for web browsing!! I only need them as simple terminals in a school library, so students can check for book availability.
I even managed to make a toram boot on the oldest one... Gotta say I'm impressed! works way nicer than I was expecting them to do.
What I do need though is to have a user with practically NO PRIVILEGES but web browsing on dillo or firefox... Therefore I made a debian type hdd install. But still need some help setting up the user.
The thing is I don't want people playing games or opening any other application than a browser...
I'm still sort of a newbie so don't know much about user management yet...
Can anyone give me a hint as to what can I do to easily add a user with these limitations???

http://kioskcd.com/
it's a DSL derivative.

Knoppix, too, has a kiosk-mode boot option

sounds nice, can I make a frugal install to a hard drive with kioskcd? I have spare hdd but no spare cd drives.... I also wouldn't like people ejecting the cd and leave me with no OS until I  can make another copy. Plus I would like persistent storage of the static network configuration. Also install lilo so it would just take pressing the power button to have it all working
Thanks again
