Hello again,
i have next problem :P :
After some restarts, boots, when i turn PC on i see some things from a BIOS, and when DSL should boot i see just "L 99 99 99 99(...)" and PC stop working. I had same problem some days ago, and i had to format my hard disk drive...
zoliax,
Thx for help

I had the same problem exactly. If i remember well, the BIOS lost settings due to low battery.
Entering to BIOS configuration and doing the hard disk Autodetection it was solved.

Just my 2 cents worth of thought but I think your error message is the classic "something didn't work with LILO". You don't mention if you use LILO or not to boot but if you do I would look at your configuration files and rewrite it to the boot drive.   I know this forum has more info on LILO problem (check the wiki also) do a search.

In BIOS, I have 'Auto Detect' everywhere. So: I have LILO. Where/How can i find LILO's config files(I wasn't looking for it yet)? I was searching for a "L 99 99" and i didn't found anything good(I don't know how to search[?] :P )

I did not mean "set to Auto". I mean "do Autodetection"
My BIOS menu have the option to do that:
IDE HDD AUTO DETECTION

You can open the /opt/lilo.conf file using the Live DSL CD.
The Live DSL CD is really useful when is necessary the access to hard disk of any computer with any operative system installed to hard disk but corrupted to be used.

When you installed DSL to hard disk. Chose you Lilo or Grub as Boot Loader?.
You are sure you have one from both Boot Loaders was installed to Master Boot Register (MBR) of the hard disk?

If still you have not important information inside the hard disk DSL partition then you can rewrite the Boot Loader to MBR by execute again the hd-install script.

I sent you my email

I have just Linux on PC with this problem and i've copied lilo.conf by the LiveCD on the floppy and opened on PC with Windows and Internet connection. And I was asking NewOldUser for and e-mail, because He said He will look on my lilo.conf. But i will be REALLY thanful for You, piccolo, if You will do it. :D

I was installing DSL three times:
1st- LILO, but i had this  L 99 99 problem; FORMAT
2nd- GURB, but LILO was working o.0 and I had other problem xD- FORMAT
3rd- LILO, evrything was OK, but i have L 99 99 again.

And other question: Will formating my hda1 clear MBR? I'm asking to prevent same situation as at 2nd install. xD

Sympathetic Zoliax,
By formatting the hda1 not clear the MBR but each time that you execute the hd-install script automatically create a /etc/lilo.conf for you (If before you have chose the Lilo as Boot Loader) and if you respond affirmatively to the question: "write to MBR" then will overwrite the MBR.

According to your lilo.conf file you have installed DSL to hda5. When hd-install script ask you about the partition where you will install DSL. What you respond?
Not information about the other partitions. For example: if you have Windows installed in another partition then you can't boot it because not information in lilo.conf about that.

hda5? I was choosing hda1, so I don't know what's up. ??? O.o Thanks for looking at my lilo.conf and any other help. I think i will format disk or try to overwrite MBR.
Thank You piccolo.
Thank You newOldUser.
:)
