Hey all,

I just downloaded the newest version of Damn Small (2.4) and the kernel in Damn Small is a 2.4 kernel. I installt Damn Small 2.4 on an usb stick. And now I want for the support of the hardware of my laptop to update it to a version 2.6 kernel.

I never update a kernel before. And I don't know if it's possible to update a kernel on an usb stick. The usb install I did was an usb-zip installation.

Can someboy help me with updating the usb stick?

try out dsl-n. it will give you the dsl interface with a 2.6 kernel.

I already tried DSL-N, but DSL-N won't install on my usb stick. The installation process halts everytime at an different place so that isn't going to work...

Many users have installed DSL-N onto pendrives, both ZIP and HDD
Certainly would be easier to post for help in the DSL-N forums.

Ok, I posted the problem that the install halts on the other forum.

I also saw that I am not the only one with this problem...
