I read in one of the posts that tthe /tmp files were supposed to be erased on reboot, but I did reboot, and their still there. Is it safe to remove all them?
Thanks

When DSL boot from LiveCD the /tmp folder is on RAM memory as /ramdisk/tmp. So when the computer reboot this and other folders are lost. However when DSL is installed to hard disk the /tmp folder is permanent.
Not problem if you want remove all files inside /tmp directory.

Thanks again, piccolo, yes I do have DSL installed to the HD,thanks for clearing that up !  I installed on a 300Mb partition, is there a way  to tell how much space
I have left on it? I had to install jre for my poker room program, and was wondering. Thanks again !

Thanks for the reply, mikshaw, I guess I'm driving this board crazy with all my noob questions, lol, but I have been making real progress thanks to you all ! I hardly even
need Windows except to play some games like Ureal, or Call Of Duty !
What I get is:
/dev/hda3     Size 297M  Used 216M   Avail  66M
/tmp/jre1_5_0  Size 84M  Used 84M   Avail 0       Mounted on /opt/jjre1_5_0
Don't know why this is because I deleted all the /tmp files and /opt shows
jre1_5_0  as 2048 bytes !  BTW Cool Avatar

/opt/jre1_5_0 is shown as 2048 bytes because that is the size of the mountpoint.  You'll probably see the same size for any mounted uci package.  The actual program is much larger.  /tmp/jre1_5_0 is, i assume, the mydsl package itself.  As long as it's mounted you cannot remove it.
