Dual Boot XP,DSL, everytime I reboot to DSL,it seems I have to go to
/usr/local/firefox/plugins to remount the java runtime environment. Is there
a way to make it stick??  Thanks

Put mydsl=hdax (where x=the partition where the jre extension is located) in the grub or lilo boot commands line.

Sorry about my noobiness, but lilo.config file I can't write to, guess I would have to sign in as root. How to do this, and any place in particular to add mydsl=hda3?
Thanks !   :)

I don't use lilo anymore and I can't remember how to modify the config file. It seems like you need to reinstall lilo everytime you modify the file, but I'm not sure about that. I use grub and it's easy.
I do remember seeing some user comments on changing the lilo file here on the forum, so you might try a search. Most files that can damage or modify your system require root access.
