I have a frugal install on two older computers and it wosrks great next to my W2K OS.  When I do a grub install on my Athalon 3000+ with 1024 Meg, I get an error with all of the DSL options in the grub menu... something about the selected item cannot fit into memory abd ERROR 28.  W2K still boots fine and I have now moved it to the first item in my menu.lst file to make it my default until I get this figured out.

I had to reply to my own topic... forgot to check the "track" box.

Perhaps you got memory problems w2k don't know about. Do you have a live cd with memtest you can run?

I am not sure... is memtest standard?  Oddly, knoppix 4.02 won't run from a live CD anymore.  I get some batch of stuff with "panic" at the end, but none of it makes any sense to me.  Most likely I have a hardware issue.  DSL runs fine from live CD or with a toram command.  This all happened after I moved my computer. I opened it up and disconnected then reconnected everything.  I did delete my linux swap partition, thinking that having 1024 Meg should be enough.
