No sound heard whil playing

My processor is AMD 2600 with ASUS mother board.

Im running DSL as LiveCD and if i try to play any song from mounted disks, i seee the xmms is playing the song well but it cannot be heard.

All sound settiings are correct and My sound card is also detected during boot.

My sound card detected is "VIA Technologies |VT8233 [AC97 Audio controller]" and sound driver is "via 82cxxx_audio"

Please help.
