Hello all of you, first i know how to change the passwords for the root and the dsl user, but how can i know that it is saved and if it's saved in which file? (i already know how to save configurations if that help) And beside that i want to save the passwords after i change it and i also want DSL to prompt me the password permanently without typing a command in the boot every time i boot it.

PS: Sorry for my english

I am assuming you have done a frugal install to HDD.  If not, then ignore what is written below it does not apply.

To save the password you must add /etc/shadow to /home/dsl/.filetool.lst.  I also add in /etc/passwd to the .filetool.lst file. Not sure that is necessary but it is small so it is not a big deal.  Then make sure that your backup file is setup.

DSL panel (on desktop)->Backup/Restore  --- Fill in the device like hda3 or hda1, where every you want your backup to reside.  I choose hda3 because it is larger that my boot partition hda1.  Click the backup button and you will have backed up your password.  This is also not needed since you will backup on shut down but it does not hurt.

To be prombted for a password on boot you add the secret cheat to the /cdrom/boot/grub/menu.lst file.  Again this applies only if you have done a frugal install and use grub as your boot loader.  I believe the lilo boot loader uses the same cheat code but I am not as familar with lilo.  Also I am not sure if it is 'dsl secret' or just 'secret'.
