I need to access the hard-drive of our computer to transfer files, probably through a usb hard-drive (probably ipod Video)... I was wondering how you could access the Hard Drive of the computer through the Live CD...I'm very new to linux, but i'm using it to try and recover some files becuase windows wont boot on the computer...

if anyone could help me figure out how to locate the hard-drive and access it so i can transfer files, I would be very appreciative...

Thanks!

You should see a little box in the bottom right of the screen once the graphical system (X) loads up.  The button with drive label (probably 'cdrom' to start with) will skip through available drives, and the button below it will mount the selected drive.  Your Windows system is most likely hda1.

If you can mount hda1 successfully, the files on it can be accessed in /mnt/hda1.
Emelfm is the default file manager, and should open in /ramdisk/home/dsl, or just /home/dsl.  Click the ../ at the top of the file list to go up a level.  When you reach / you are at the top, and you should see /mnt listed in that directory.
