Hello,

I haven't used Wine to run a powerpoint viewer but I've used OpenOffice "Impress" to display "slideshows" created with MS' Powerpoint. OO Impress is included in the "openoffice.org2.0.uci" extension.  It can read and write .ppt files quite accurately and there's a good chance that it will display your powerpoint "slides".
You might need to import truetype fonts for optimal rendering, though.

Good Luck.
