hi, i'm new to DSL and i need some help...
first, all my images are very bad quality and pixelated, how do i fix this
second, how do i install things like java in firefox in DSL

Could you elaborate on "images are very bad quality"? Is this in a specific application, which one, and when? If your entire screen is a low res, try the cheat code 788. You can learn more about cheat codes on the wiki. There is a link from the wiki front page. There is a link to the wiki on the damnsmallinux.org front page.

If you need help installing things, the wiki is still your friend. Read the MyDSL pages, starting with About MyDSL, and going to installing MyDSL.

As for connecting java to firefox, there should be a link in the firefox plugins directory, that links to the java library file. Here is an example command,

ln -s /opt/jre1.5.xxx/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so /opt/firefox-xxx/plugins/

That is all on one line. The firefox extension you use might already come with that link, so you only have to install firefox and java. I know that firefox-1.5.0.6 does.
