Do I have to buy the CD from the DSL site, or is there some way I can shrink the 6.66gb download to fit on a cd.

If you aren't then you should use a reliable downloader such as wget to grab your files as DSL is only 50mb.

I think your software is messed up if it's telling you dsl is 6gb. I don't think *any* linux distributions are over 4.5gb, and DSL is, as thehatsrule said, only 50mb.

Maybe you're trying to download the entire contents of the server.

You already posted the right link. On that page is a list of mirrors. Enter one of those mirrors, then go to the "current" directory.  In that directory is the file 1-readme_first.txt, which should be the first file listed. Read that file to determine the DSL file you need to download. In addition to that DSL file, you *might* need to download a boot floppy, if you have a system that won't boot from cd.

ok thanks for the info.

*my system boots fine from CD (whats a floppy?) *looks at pc, what does it look like? looks at the 3.5" bay occupied by a Fan controll ":D)
