When creating a new user in Linux, I am familiar with the useradd command, which updates /etc/passwd. But what about all the set-up that is required for the GUI to run? I looked at the ~dsl directory and there are many dot files (hidden) and subdirectories. I can't simply copy all of them to a new user directory because the user name is embedded in many of those files.

Is there a setup script on DSL for a new user that would handle all this so its set-up properly and with the right permissions, and user named? If not, what are people copying over for a new user? Thanks!

It's either in system (first guess) or tools, but DSL definitely has a graphical add new user script.

Thanks! I found it in System>Add Users

It sets up the user, but doesn't include everything needed for the windows manager via the vncserver as the ~dsl login does.
