I just downloaded the latest distro. of DSL, 5.3.1 and urned is as an image file to a CD.  I'm having a bunch of problems.  The floppy image on the CD does not work.  I tried to write it to a disk using rawrite, but it froze, then tried to copy it to my computer to write it from there, but it said cannot read disc.  I tried to boot my computer with it, but it acts like it was going to boot, it says "syslinux, version x.x boot error insert another disc and press any key"  is this because of a bad download?  or should I partition my hard drive as Linux first?  Or is it another problem that is completely different?  Help!

Sounds like a bad download or a bad floppy disk to me.

You can verify your download using the md5sum program and the *.md5 file that is located on the download site.
