I was just wondering... what kind of sound architecture does DSL use?

Because DSL do not like my sound card. It does not want to use it... it says when the cd is booting up that it cannot find a driver file for it... but on the distro that I am using (Zenwalk Linux) it has one... and just to let you know I am using ALSA on it.

DSL is using the sound architecture that was native to 2.4.26 which is not alsa.

You can download an alsa extension from the DSL repository and, with a bit of luck, the driver for your card will be there.

It uses OSS.

Some chipsets/cards aren't accounted for automatically, so you may have to manually load a driver for it, should you not want to use ALSA.
