There's a call 4 help of 3 people al the forum rules wiki page:
< http://damnsmalllinux.org/wiki/index.php?title=Forum_Rules >

They seem to have trouble joining the forums. Who's the sysop? ???

I realize some people require more time on the learning curve than others, but I'm against letting in people who make help "posts" to a wiki (especially a rules page). :)

So, how would you contact the administrator for help?

You don't know who is in charge and if you try to e-mail any of the most active members in the hope that they'll know, you are not allowed either because you don't yet have a userID.

Any suggestion?

Then, once you decide to post the help call in the wiki I see quite logic to either use the FAQ or the page that has most to do with your problem in the hope that someone will mantain it and find your call. The mantainer of a page related to your problem is likely to be able to help you.

The usual fallback is:
webmaster@address.whatever

No? And what about the fact that their e-mail addresses are on various pages...?

If that's the case, why are those messages still on the page?

Right. Now, which is the current value of 'whatever'?

F>> You don't know who is in charge

Which 'various' pages?

* The first attempt would be to look at the details in the bottom of the forums. But unfortunately, there's no webmaster@...etc]webmaster@. ...etc
* Maybe at the bottom of the main web page? ...Neither! So you go back to the forum. It must be at the forums...
* Any 'special' thread providing that info? ...Nope!
* Then you notice there's a button in the forums saying "Members" and you click. Yes! a search engine for people! Then you try the pulldown list and, yeah!, an option to find the "Superadministrators"! You get 2 names. Fine! You access their personal user pages and find a link saying: "send Mr. XYZ an e-mail". We got it! You click and...well...

* So you try again the web site. there's a contributors's page with names of some forum gurus ... Mmm :-/ No e-mail or contact info
* Hah! There's a < wall of appreciation > ... but it is empty
* Then you try the < Wiki Master > ? ... Just a name. So you search in the hope he has a user page in the wiki ... 2 matches. No user page. The reffered page has an e-mail adress :laugh:   ... but it is a fake one :'-(
* What about the < Moderators > page? ... Empty
* ...

I didn't said it would happen, I just said it is likely he would be able to help.

And... why are we discussing this here? Because I saw the call for help. Why did I see it? Because I'm a translator. I'm acting much in the same way a mantainer would (monitoring the wiki), except for the fact that the base/source of my work is not my technical knowledge, but my language skills.

By the way. I still wait for a better suggestion on where to post the call for help (?).

I think the website is damnsmalllinux.org. Wanna take a guess?

Look through the site for @damnsmalllinux.org addresses. What's funny is they took the time to register again to post on the wiki.

I've already given the better suggestion:
webmaster@website.whatever

Probably works here just like it seems to everywhere else.

I got the same problem when running Knoppix the other day. I logged in, it showed me logged in, but when trying to post, it gave a "no permission". It has not happened to me before, not even in M$... Maybe ikonboard has some new bugs
