The MD5Sum file in /KNOPPIX on the CD needed by the testcd option is missing. So how do I verify the integrity of my burn?

I have no idea! Guess I'm going to have to check the md5 on my downloads:--- Here's what happened to me when I downloaded a copy of 0.6.1 just now: After burning, it would not boot by itself. So, not wanting to waste the download and burn, I opened the cd in Windows, and copied the files needed for 0.6.1 to /knoppix, which I have in the Windows partition. I run it this way anyway, so it did not matter that the cd would not get past this point: (Quits at:) looking for cdrom in: /dev/scd0 when I use a boot floppy to get it going. I wonder if anyone else has downloaded the .iso, and can only get the index.html file to autorun, but not the /knoppix part of the cd itself. (I have to keep closing Internet Explorer with the "Why are you still using Windows" message. ) ---- Now that I have DSL 0.6.1 going, (more on how I do that here:) < http://www.angelfire.com/ms/telegram/general_howto > I have to get the new menu for 0.6.1 merged with some of the changes that I use to make Damnsmall easier for me to use. First, I open the new menu in scite with: (sudo su) #scite /home/damnsmall/.fluxbox/menu Then I restore my old tarball, and open the resulting menu also. Then I copy and paste, save the one I want and here is the result: < http://www.angelfire.com/ms/telegram/fluxbox_menu_6 > When I backup to the tarball, I have it for keeps. --- Here is my filetool.lst, note that I have wvdial, copied from 0.5.3.1, but not included in 0.6 or 0.6.1 --- /home/damnsmall/.fluxbox /home/damnsmall/.xtdesktop /home/damnsmall/.xinitrc /opt/xsetup /opt/ppp /home/damnsmall/.blackboxrc /home/damnsmall/.dillo /home/damnsmall/.links /opt/MozillaFirebird /home/damnsmall/.phoenix /home/damnsmall/web.html /home/damnsmall/web_files /home/damnsmall/upload /home/damnsmall/kreon /etc/wvdial.conf /ramdisk/usr/bin/wvdialconf /ramdisk/usr/bin/wvdial /ramdisk/usr/bin/wvdial.conf ------- Now, I gotta get back to playing with 0.6.1 ------- |
