I downloaded the GNU Utilities from Tools -> Upgrade to GNU Utils

I loaded up gnu-utils.dsl from MyDSL Extension Tool.

I don't see any new utilities.  Exactly what are these GNU utilities and how do I use them?

it seems like you like to do things without finding out what they should do...

See the .info for any extension... i.e. < http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub....sl.info >

The commands you get from gnu-utils.dsl are already available in DSL, as symlinks to the busybox application. The difference is that the GNU versions of these programs have more features than the commands in DSL. For example, the Busybox version of free accepts no commandline options, but the GNU version allows you to display the output in megabytes/kilobytes, and to set an update interval for continuous display.
