Can't download FirefoxForum: Other Help Topics Topic: Can't download Firefox started by: raysr Posted by raysr on April 25 2004,05:54
I try to download Firefox but nothing happens. DSL just sits there. Also I have a Mozilla CD with Firebird on it but I can't figure out how to run it. What's wrong?

Can you connect to the Internet with Dillo and get to the www.ibiblio.org web site?If not, it means that you have problems with your Internet setup that are preventing you from downloading the Firefox file (Menu choice: Net -> Got Bandwidth -> Install Firefox). Also, if you get Mozilla Firefox downloaded, see if you can back it up to a USB flash memory stick, that way, you'll have it each time you boot up, and not have to download itagain. Here is my "general howto" on that, and other topics about the backup and restoration process. --- < http://www.angelfire.com/ms/telegram/general_howto > --- Posted by raysr on April 26 2004,01:44
Yes, I can get online and to that site. Still can download unless it's downloading without a window. What I'd relly like to know is why my CD doesn't work. Thanks.

How much RAM do you have?I know that my 40MB RAM computer has too little RAM to install and run Firefox. My guess is that 64MB is minimum. Posted by raysr on April 26 2004,01:57
I can get on the internet and to the site mentioned fine, but when I download I can't see it happening anywhere(no window) What I'd really like to know is how to install Firebird off my CD. Thanks.
