hello,

once again i'm impressed with dsl's performance on an old compaq pressario. unfortunately i can't get the sound to work (es18xx chip) as is so my understanding is i need the alsa-dsl package as well as gnu-utils. right now i have a few dsl packages copied to a seperate partition. my problem is i need multiple prompts to troubleshoot, i.e i have to enter "fb088x600" for my display to work. if i try and enter another option i.e. "fb800x600 dsl mydsl=/dev/hda3" i get an error message either the live cd can't find the kernel image or it works but my display is configured improperly. any help on the EXACT syntax at boot for multiple parameters would be much appreciated.

thanks

thanks for the reply. i was about to say, i already tried that but this time i added all the io, dma, irq, stuff etc and to my surprise the sound worked fine. thanks again - just gotta have my sound working and those little jbls on the compaq aren't half bad.

That's an incorrect use of bootlabels... either use "fb800x600" or "dsl".  For more info press F2/F3 on boot or see the wiki/docs, etc.
