When I boot from the live cd, it freezes(nothing at all happens when I do anything except push the power button) after a line that reads:
"Processor 0 is M II 3.5x Core/Bus Clock 233MHz"

The processor IS a Cyrix MII 300 MMX (233MHz)

What would be the problem?

FYI works with Knoppix (your base OS right?) and Puppy, but not Feather

Thanks in advance.

Which version of dsl are you using - 3.x, 4.x or dsln?

I've noticed that dsl 3.x and 4.x report my laptop cpu details incorrectly but the laptop still boots. dsln reports the cpu details correctly and boots so you could try dsln as a test to see if the hardware or the software is the problem?

I'm using 4.2

Is some of the hardware detection cut out?
Its weird to me that it boots fine till it detects the processor.

How much RAM do you have? Which cheatcodes are you using?

160MB of ram and 256MB swap.

I didn't use any cheat codes.

Maybe that's a problem? Check the wiki for a list. It could be hanging on apm, acpi, dma.

What is the next step in the bootup process?
Thant might help me figure out what cheat codes to use.
Lucky 13, thanks for the advice.

I think you know your hardware better than any of us. You should, anyway. Search through the forum (there's a link at the top with a magnifying glass) for similar hardware, etc.
