Hi folks,

If I boot a Windows system from the DSL CD, is any data written to the hard drives during use? I don't want to mess up the windows system trying out DSL.

Thanks,

...Dave

Nope, your safe , especially if your windoze box uses NTFS,
as DSL cannot write to an NTFS partition.. It's read-only..

If it's a FAT32, you CAN write to it IF you MOUNT it first..

Now if you goof around with the fdisk, or cfdisk utilities,
you can easily DELETE your windoze partitions..

But inserting the CD, and booting it up can cause no harm...

Enjoy..

Thats the beauty of a live cd distro

you can even disconnect the power/ide cable from the hd if you are worried and dsl will run like a champ from the CD...
