My apt-get was working, about 5 min ago, but when i closed the shell, then opened another one and tried to run "apt-get install", it spit out this error:"apt-get: error while loading shared libraries: libapt-pkg-libc6.3-5.so.3.3: cannot open shared object file: No such filr or directory" The last package that i installed was the dsl-dpkg.dsl file from the MYDSL repository. Sorry..i ment for this to go intot he Apt-get section, but now i cant delete it =( Posted by ke4nt1 on Aug. 04 2004,13:18
Hmmm.. I have the latest gnu-utils, which was updated 7/31/04, and thelatest dsl-dpkg.dsl , which is dated 7/18/2004, automatically loading from root dir or mydsl partition on all my boxes here. No issues.. Do you have the latest copies of these two? There were some issues with them before the dates listed, but no feedback containing your symptoms as I recall... What OTHER .dsl or apt files did you install prior to trying dsl.dpkg.dsl ? Libc6 ? Did you use apt-get to install the development files gcc g++ make ? Where you successful, or did you have errors ? From a fresh boot, from LiveCD, install the 2 .dsl files in question to your OS. How do they behave now ?? Did a fresh reboot remove any "locks" that may have handled the libc6 file? 73 ke4nt Posted by DSLChuck on Aug. 04 2004,13:33
Yeah i installed the dsl-dpkg.dsl that was dated 7/18/2004. As for the gcc and the g++, i could only get gcc and cpp to install, i tried the g++ and it wouldn't find any packages, in "apt-get". The only packages i installed before the dsl-dpkg was the Quake 2 one, and i think it was Gimp. Im gonna try a quick reboot, to see if it helps any. Thank you -DSL user Chuck- |
