Hi
I would just like to know please.. . .

When DSL was built, how much space was used and how big did it get beofre it was stripped down to size ? I ask as i would like to experiment building a distro within a very small space (less than 200 mb) not including the src files.

Thanks

As I only have experience with remastering DSL, here is what I have on
that:
-------
I use a 500 MB hard drive to remaster DSL 0.6.2, which is plenty of space.
After compression, the remaster is 142 MB, and the .iso is about 58 MB.
I have Mozilla Firefox, wvdial, and a nice selection of wallpapers, and other
documents included in my latest remaster of DSL.
---
I am running it now, off the cd and use a small backup.tar.gz of under 200 KB
on a floppy disk to restore my personal settings, etc. and bring up my own welcome message.
---
At the boot: prompt, I just "knoppix restore" and the floppy backup is
applied to the filesystem, and I am up and running.
---
Main thing is to have lots of RAM and a nice processor to remaster.
I have a dual pentium pro motherboard, they are 200 MHZ, and that
does ok.
