hi all

i have a nec versa p75 (very old i know but dsl is very responsive and has given this laptop new life ).

a few questions,
using xvesa 640x480x16 what do you put for dpi.
tried 800x600x8 but taskbar is off screen, will knowing the dpi help.

result is that apps startup with menu and tabs off sreen, can't do anything but ctrl-q. Was able to set keybindings to maximize window, but this still pisses me off.

secondly why can't i alt-f(x) and get virtual terminal when running X, f2 is gui, but f1 is stuck on the dpi screen.
if i kill X f1,f2,f3,f4 all function..

can anyone help thanx in advance.....
