im having trouble setting up dialup in DSL.
im positive everything is set up right except the comport to the modem.

i believe my modem is on either com port 4 or 5, but i dont know how linux refers to them by name?

for example com 1 would be ttsy0 or something like that, from some of the options in the dialup internet setup.

Does someone know the names of the rest of the ports preferebly 4-6.

your help is greatly apreciated.

Would that be a  US ROBOTICS PCI modem? If so they are made to set up on com 5. In linux ttyS4 is com 5 make sure you capitalize  the S ttys4 is not the same as ttyS4. Just tell the pppconfig program which port your modem is on.
You should be good to go if it's a serial modem.

you are a bsolutely right; the modem is a US Robotics PCI.
Im not sure what you mean by serial, my modem is pci.
But all in all this should most definetly work.

Thankyou very much.:)
