G'day all
Just got around to thinking about MIDI using DSL.  I have a few keyboards, and would like to eventually use my old P233 laptop as a live sequencer to control them, but haven't checked out DSL's MIDI capabilities.  I assume from a few things I've read that it can do MIDI output?
Just came across a Linux MIDI Tracker called ShakeTracker

Any thoughts on whether this could be run on DSL to control MIDI devices?  It seems to say something about ALSA in there - would the alsadebs package need to be enable?

A mate's currently got my laptop, so I haven't tested it out yet, though I've never gotten sound (well, computer-produced sound) to work with it (Compaq Armada 1592DT).  Haven't tried the alsadebs package with it, though.

I had problems installing the Alsadebs on my internal Via AC 97 , audio did work , but midi didnt. I came across thisSequencer program called Jazz (www.jazzware.com) ,after editing the config file from default ALSA to OSS
to my surprise it started to work under native DSL .As I tested so far this might be the only sequencer still supporting OSS , all others requiered ALSA
