Hi, I've been looking a distro for my old P2 233/64 and DSL seems like the one. I'm not a Linux user and this is the first distro I've actually gotten online with, which was nice. But the keyboard is acting up.

I found this in the unofficial faq...

Q. I am from the UK and my keyboard is messed up how do I fix it?

A.
Quit X (ctrl-alt-backspace)
type "loadmaps uk.kmap.gz"
type "startx"

But I need my Scandinavian umlauts. What do I do? The Keyboard settings in DSL did me no good.

You might try this..
Open an Xshell and type this
ls  /usr/share/keymaps/i386/qwerty

Try some of those with the loadkeys command

If you find one that works for you, then you can add the loadkeys command to your /opt/bootlocal.sh

Thanks, it's working splendid.

I couldn't change it through Xshell, but when I quit X and then typed it in, like in the original uFAQ, it worked.

loadkeys fi-latin1.kmap.gz
