When I try to start DSL normally it doesnt work. So I boot it up in safe mode. That solves watever was keeping it from not booting, but then there is no USB drivers or sound drivers for me to use and therefor, no usb or sound for me. :( How can I enable sound when inside of DSL? Can I? Or does it have to be enabled at boot?

You are not giving much information as to what the box is doing.
When you say it isn't working, what is it doing? Does the screen go blank after it gets ready to start the window manager? What kind of machine are you using? The people need more information in order to help you.
You can also search the forums for answers as well.

Good point. I did do a forum search, and couldnt find the answer i was looking for. Without booting into failsafe, it loads and before it starts X it turns black. I waited for 5 minutes once and got nothing.

Try the:

dsl xsetup

boot parameter

Then try choosing xfbdev and see if it works.

Otherwise, try xvesa and try a bunch of different resolutions (like 800 x 600 x 16 bit) and see if one of them works.

Or press CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE

and type:

Xvesa -listmodes

and see what resolutions are supported by your video card.
You need to capitalize the "X" in Xvesa

I had the same problem with the boot sequence when booting normally, If you are on a network try using the boot parameter "dsl nodhcp"  that worked for me, for somereason it kept me from booting, once the system boots up, you can enable it again from the control pannel.
