Hi, I'm getting this error whenever I try to 'chown' or 'ls' large values (greater than 2GB):
ls: ./VTS_01_1.VOB: Value too large for defined data type

This happens on both ReiserFS and Ext3 filesystems. EmellFM shows the files fine. Samba will not show these large files either over the network.

Anyone run into this problem? My guess is either it's an DSL bug or my motherboard isn't supporting large files correctly. (it's an older apollo 133 p3 slot1 mobo). I will try updating my BIOS, but I don't think that it will help.

I am using latest version of DSL -- 0.9.3. The hard drives I am trying to access are 160GB.

If anyone knows a solution, you mind sharing da info?

Well, I verified that it wasn't my motherboard and this is in fact a bug in Damn Small Linux. I loaded many other LiveCD and all of them read large files perfectly.

Try downloading and installing the gnu-utils.dsl extension from the myDSL repository.

My guess is that the Busybox versions of these commands do not work correctly with large files.
