According to some other posts floating around the internet, it sounds like you have a pnpBIOS (plug and play BIOS) problem. You may be able to resolve the problem by turning plug and play OFF in your computer BIOS or by removing some add-on hardware from your computer. Also, you could try some KNOPPIX or linux kernel cheatcodes to the boot command line to see if they help. You must use a capital "M" for your memory units: For example: dsl failsafe pnpbios=off mem=64M pci=bios pci=biosirq good luck. Posted by vedran on Mar. 13 2005,20:10
I have found out that knoppix 2.6 kernel is working on my comp. but very slow.

Try booting with the Fluxbox desktop instead of KDE.KDE will run very slow on your computer. For example: knoppix desktop=fluxbox Also, it is possible to run knoppix from your existing hard drive partition instead of the livecd. It will run much faster, but you will still need the livecd in order to boot up. |
