I've just downloaded and installed SuSE 9.2, but when I finished the install and it booted for the first time, the performance is just DRAGGING. Like, choppy mouse movements and all kinds of performance related issues. I also keep getting a message coming up in a window that says "Message from syslogd@linux at <date and time><CRLF>linux last message repeated <X> times"

I'm not sure what to do about this... I'm a novice using Linux. Anyone out there know how to fix this so at least my linux system is usable?

Don't know how you managed to end up on the DSL forums when looking for answers about Suse...

Performance issues can have many sources....we can't help much unless you give more information: cpu, ram, mouse, video card, window manager, unusual hardware, etc, etc, etc...

I've installed suse 9.2 last week on a laptop and everything went very smooth here. You can check a few thing like whether dma support is enabled or not on your hdd.Or your vga card driver. This is usually the case, but it could be more compicated in your case. It would help a lot if you post your boot.msg (could be foun in YaST2>Misc>Startup log).
