the kernel doasn't show anything, the hardware autodetection script doas, but why you want to hide this? This tells you what drivers was loaded and if all is ok.

I think that it is important to be showed.

While that is good advice,  I'm sure all of us can think of a few situations where hidding the hardware autodetection script.

1.  Grandma's computer where she might go into a techno panic from all this jibbity jabbity running across the screen.

2.  A kiosk situation where the image of your business is important and an end user would never trouble shoot a failed hardware situation.

etc.

I would like to know if it's possible and how to do it as well.

The original knoppix livecd had a "splashscreen" function.

It is possible that this feature also exists inside DSL.

Search Google or the Knoppix web site for information on how to try the splashscreen function.
