many of you(possibly all) will laugh at me when i say this, i have w1nd0ws milleinum edition on the family computer >_<. And recently it got wreaked possibly from the local power outages or theres a virus on it. Either way is it possible to run the DSL live CD and recover data from the Hard drive without using \/\/inME?
Or is there some other linux related option i could use to recover the data?
Its a Dimension 4300
1.5ghz
256mb ram
20gb drive
WinME
Thanx alot ^_^

If your ME partition is fat32 (i think it probably is), it should be no problem as long as the drive itself is not corrupt.  Mount the ME drive in DSL, and make sure you have a writeable disk on which to copy the files you want to recover.
If ME is on NTFS you might still be able to do this, but i can't say from experience.

ME should be FAT32, so you can both READ and WRITE from the hard drive partition
