50megs. Running a 5yr old Toshiba 700mhz pIIIm, Xircom Realport, Freecom Classic cdrw usb. Out of the box, DSL knows all hardware. Installed to usb-zip. Never connected to the net before. PPPconfig is a walk in the park (almost!)
Most of the UK & most of the world is on 56k. Don't have to spend loads of time (money,) doing virus updates before access. Bang. On the www. And that's only a fraction of what DSL can do. Crafted. Bravo.

Couldn't agree more, DSL is the best thing that ever happened to my notebook, I have a Compaq Armada 1700, PII 233 Mhz, 96 MB RAM and I tell you... it flies with DSL! I have tried several dozens of small distros but always kept coming back to good old DSL, the only thing that I couldn't figure out at the beginning was to make my sound work, but looking around the forum fund an excelent post by tempestuous that gave me the final key to make my sound work.
This is without a doubt the best small distro ever.
