Hi thanks in advance for the help.... new to DSL and on the first attempt using the newest .iso boot I get to the boot {enter} resolution changes successfully ... then after it decompresses the kernel i get this message:Mount Bad Address /linuxrc: cannot create /proc/sys/kernel/printx : directory non existant Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03:01 any ideas? Which file did you download? Did you confirm that it was downloaded properly by checking its md5sum? From the error I'd say the file /KNOPPIX/KNOPPIX is corrupted.

I downloaded the iso .... I have had now tried the same cd on another computer (P4 3.2 512mb) and it boots so i dont know is there anything else that could stop the boot?
