hey guys.....was wondering how to uninstall older versions of programs, becuase i just installed a newer version of Firefox from myDSL (1.0PR) and wanted to uninstall the older versionAlso, how do I remove or add items to the desktop? Posted by guest on May 28 2005,15:52
MyDSL (.dsl) extensions are intended for livecd use - to uninstall you reboot.

UCI type extensions are easily "uninstalled" , rerun the mydsl-load command or use emelfm and double-click again and the extension is removed, i.e., unmounted and the icons, and menu items are removed.

Yes, however I did a hard drive installation on my old Dell Latitude CPi A, and wanted to know how I could uninstall older versions of programs in order to install the newer, updated versions.

Check your other thread on the same topic. Deleting the directory "/usr/local/bin/firefox" should remove the old program, then you can edit /home/dsl/.fluxbox/menu to change any direct paths to firefox to reflect the change.
