I'm bare new to linux, and maybe the question si wrong.
I have successfully done the following with a suse linux.
I have configured runlevel 4 for open only an application called chbg (you may know it), so when put my system in runlevel 4 it simply run this application (showing some kind of wallpaper) and if someone inteact, the machine is powerdowned.

I have searched gor a small linux distribution for doing the same and let it work only as a screen saver. but i cannot manage the followings.

How to install chbg under dsl (maybe that's my fault)
How the system startup are carried on to limit application startup (i want only ftp server, telnet server and ofvourse x11 server with chbg runnig)
how to start automatically the ftp server
how to start automatically telnet server.

An other question maybe if you suggest DSL to be used like this (i work with hdd) or if some other distribution will be more suitable. The mai problem seems always how to install a package, maybe i can copy the compiled one on the suse simply to dsl? I'm only one week using linux, and seem very hard!

Let me know.
thanks!
