Change for Daylight Savings TimeForum: Other Help Topics Topic: Change for Daylight Savings Time started by: dbickin Posted by dbickin on April 27 2005,20:27
When we entered Daylight Savings Time, the clock did not change. When I enter `date` in a terminal, it says EDT, so it knows it is daylight savings time, but the hour is still standard time. How can I fix this?I tried resetting the time with `date -s ...`, and that appeared to work, until I rebooted, and the hour went back to the wrong amount. Did a search but didn't see this topic already coverd, pointer to previous topic if it exists appreciated. Thanks, David Posted by dbickin on April 27 2005,20:55
My brain started working... hwclock -w made the time correction stick. I guess I'll know if things are okay come October when the clocks change again. (Or perhaps November if they do change the law. Come to think of it, will all the computers need to be patched with the new time change dates if it does come to that?)Davdi |
