Hi,
are there any methods to set screen resolution to 800x600x24 and set german keyboard layout automatically at startup (Live-CD DSL System)?
Sorry for my english, I'm from germany.
Thanks,
s-m-n

One solution might be to

- start the CD with the 'toram' option,
- set your parameters (keyboard and resolution)
- right click the desktop and choose menu : Apps/Tools/Make myDSL CD remaster

(hope it works, just installed the DSL one hour ago ;) )

Thanks for your reply.
Does DSL load the correct keyboard layout and screen resolution automatically, when I remaster it? I hope you can understand my english. :)
Thanks, s-m-n

Hi,
I tried it to do it in Chag's way and loaded DSL with the boot options "dsl lang=de toram" But there is no entry "Make myDSL CD remaster". I use version 0.9.3 or 0.93 (I don't know). Is there another way?
Thanks, s-m-n

Get the latest version, it runs the keyboard selection script at the end of xsetup.sh

That might be a problem, because I don't have a broadband internet connection. So it will take approx. 2 hours to download the latest release. My current DSL image comes from a computer magazine CD-ROM. Is there really no way for v0.93? :(
Thanks, s-m-n

You can always remaster your cd manually.

Try searching the forums and the documentation on the web site for more information.

But to me it is not a big deal to spend 2 hours to download a new version.

You can always order a copy from the www.damnsmalllinux.org web site and help support the people who are developing the distro.

Hi,
OK, I think I have already printed out a matching topic. But I didn't know that this is a way to save my settings. Thank you, I'll try it tomorrow (Here in Germany now it's 9 o'clock PM)
Have a good night and thanks@all for everything :)
